Why Lemon is a Diabetic Superfood

I love the saying “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” Because even though the lemons that life throws your way can be sour, with the right mindset we can still make proverbial lemonade out of them (or real lemonade that is delicious).  Not to mention, lemons are so good for you that I consider them a diabetic superfood!

Lemon has been known for its power as a healing fruit for thousands of years. Originally from Southeast Asia, lemon was revered by locals for its therapeutic uses and breath cleansing powers. But lemon really broke onto the western medicinal scene for the first time when James Lind, a doctor for the British Navy, proved lemon could prevent Scurvy in sailors. Since then we have discovered so many more benefits of lemon and how lemon can help us live healthier and happier lives.
